Update: MichaelBay.com calls shenanigans on the casting news, referring to it as “completely false”.
Origial Post Below:
Sure sounds like it, if Interwebs rumors can be believed.
According to the website Twitch, after a lengthy screen test, Michael “King of Explosions” Bay have settled on young actors Brenton Thwaites and Nicola Peltz to join Mark Wahlberg in the upcoming fourth entry in the immensely popular robots in disguise franchise.
You may remember Peltz (below) from M. Night Shyamalan’s “The Last Airbender”, where she played Katara. She’s since grown up lots, as you can see from the pic, and has slotted the A&E show “Bates Motel” on her schedule.
Thwaites (left), meanwhile, is yet another Aussie hailing from the TV show “Home and Away” (a show that every single Aussie actor currently working in Hollywood can be traced back to, or so it seems), and was recently in “Blue Lagoon: The Awakening” and can next be seen as the Prince in Disney’s “Maleficent” with Angelina Jolie.
As previously reported, the fourth “Transformers” movie will be set 4 years after the events of the third movie, and will find Mark Wahlberg headlining what promises to be a “new direction” for the franchise. Peltz will be playing Wahlberg’s young teenage daughter and Thwaites her “biker” boyfriend.
No other plot details about “Transformers 4″ is known. But I assume it will continue to involve those pesky Decepticons attempting to destroy humanity or take over Earth or some such. After all, with a name like “Decepticons”, it’s hard to get a job selling flowers and what not. People sorta expect certain things about you … like being deceptive and evil, etc.
