Matthew Goode and Mia Wasikowska in Stoker (2013) Movie Image

A hauntingly moody, International trailer for Park Chan-wook’s “Stoker” has appeared online. It certainly reveals a lot more of the plot, perhaps a bit too much if you look closely enough. The film itself looks like a really good Hollywood debut for Park, but then again, it’s not like he’s a rookie in the game. The film is based on an original script by Wentworth Miller of “Prison Break” fame, by the way. As a fan of “Prison Break”, that’s kinda cool.

After India’s (Wasikowska’s) father dies in an auto accident, her Uncle Charlie (Goode), who she never knew existed, comes to live with her and her emotionally unstable mother Evelyn (Kidman). Soon after his arrival, she comes to suspect this mysterious, charming man has ulterior motives, but instead of feeling outrage or horror, this friendless girl becomes increasingly infatuated with him.

Starring Mia Wasikowska, Matthew Goode, Dermot Mulroney, Jacki Weaver, Nicole Kidman, Lucas Till, and Alden Ehrenreich.

Stoking it March 1, 2013.

Very cool. Matthew Goode would be a good choice for Dr. Strange!
