I have to admit, when I heard the title, “Guns, Girls, and Gambling”, my eyes glossed over and I stopped reading the rest of the article. Apparently I should have kept reading, because the film, despite it’s very direct-to-DVD title, has assembled itself quite the stellar cast, and now it’s added blonde Goddess Helena Mattsson to the list.
The indie crime film, about the race for a priceless Hopi warrior mask stolen during a poker game at an Indian casino, will have Mattsson (below) playing an “educated, ice cold and lethal” hitwoman. She’ll be joining a cast that already includes Christian Slater, Gary Oldman, Dane Cook, Megan Park, and Chris Kattan.
Look, you put Gary Oldman in a movie, and I’m there. You include Christian Slater, who is doing more interesting stuff now in direct-to-DVD land than he was doing back during his big-time A-lister days, and it’s a must-see.
Plus, the film is from Michael Winnick, who did a little-seen, but I thought surprisingly good low-budget sci-fi/horror movie called “Shadow Puppets” back in 2007. Winnick writes and directs “Guns, Girls, and Gambling”, which commenced shooting last Tuesday in Utah.
