Henry Cavill Has Doubts About the Justice League Movie

If Warner Bros. has its way, they’ll capitalize on the burgeoning worldwide success of Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel” with a “Man of Steel 2″ and a “Justice League” movie in 2015. As I’ve said many times, that seems a tad optimistic, especially when it comes to the “Justice League” movie. The pre-production time on that movie alone will be massive.

Henry Cavill, Superman himself, seems to share my doubts. The actor recently shared his thoughts to ABC on the prospects of a “Justice League” movie (which would naturally include Supes as one of the primary leads/characters), telling the network:

Justice League could be great if done correctly. It’s a very tough one to do because the DC comic heroes are all god-like in their power. So in this real world universe, real-world setting we’re telling our story in, it’s going to be tough to achieve that. It has to be done very delicately with a lot of thought. So, it won’t be right away. I hope it’s not, anyway. It may take some time of building up other movies and other characters and introducing them together in one way or another.

What he’s trying to say is, “Yo, Warner, you should do it the Marvel way!”

Of course, that’s not to say he doesn’t think a “Justice League” would happen, or if it does happen sooner than he thinks it should, that he wouldn’t be involve. He adds:

I think it would be great to do, but I don’t think it’s around the corner.

Hopefully Warner Bros. is listening. I wouldn’t mind seeing a “Justice League” by 2015 myself, but let’s face it, this isn’t exactly the kind of thing you rush into.

Maybe Warner is letting this “Marvel way” talk get to them and are now actively (for whatever reason) trying to prove that it isn’t the only way. To that all I have to say is, the proof is in the box office.

“To that all I have to say is, the proof is in the box office”.

Iron Man 3 made almost as much money as The Avengers. We´ll have to wait for Thor The Dark World, to see if people are interested in seeing superhero movies that don´t feature Robert Downey Jr.

Why not go a different route and introduce characters via the small screen. Like the SHIELD show but maybe have Steve Trevor head everything. Have him discover other heroes not just Wonder Woman. Have him head up a meta human investigations unit.

Not the worst idea in the world. I could see a bunch of mini-series for each character that allows for some decent storytelling and aharacter development, and throw it on cable to give it a decent budget. A Wonder Woman and Aquaman series in the style of Spartacus (not the nudity and such but the action nd possibly violence), a Flash series that’s a noir detective story, a Martian Manhunter series documenting his decades on Earth helping people secretly and it could also mix some Noir stuff in there for a story featuring his Detective John Jones persona, and a mini detailing the early years of Batman so that the one in JL can be a veteran.

Smallville could sorta be used, tbh i didnt mind it at all besides the whole Darkseid/Final Crisis thing that i thought was kinda underachieved in the last season. Unfortunately, they are doing arrow and its a great success but no powers. sorta like Nolanverse. So if you were to do that, there cant be a green arrow in the justice league, which is alright if introduced later i guess.

I really wish they would get a Flash movie going. I am a huge Flash fan and I have been trying to follow all the news I can but there really isn’t any at the moment and if they want the Justice League you got to start somewhere else besides the notorious Batman and Superman. Introduce someone who isn’t all that popular with this fan base. For example, The Flash or Martian Manhunter.
