According to Deadline, Lionsgate has made an official offer to Mike White to come onboard their zombie film, based on a novel by Seth Grahame-Smith, who took Jane Austen’s novel and added some undead. Cause what doesn’t work better with some undead sprinkled in? “Love Actually” with zombies would have been aces.
White was previously one of two top contenders for the gig, along with “Doomsday” director Neil Marshall, who is personally my pick for the job. Then again, Marshall is the king of splatter in my opinion, and to get him on zombies, well, that would have been all kinds of bloody good times. Here’s hoping Marshall doesn’t let a little thing like not getting the job keep him from doing his own zombie flick in the future.
Bradley Cooper is said to be still attached to the film, though Scarlett Johansson is not. There have never been any official word on casting, so who knows where that’s at right now. Maybe they can look into getting Keira Knightley? She’s been known to slip on a tight corset or two…
