Hey, Remember Street Kings with Keanu Reeves? They Made a Sequel

Remember 2008′s “Street Kings”, starring Keanu Reeves as a badass street cop out for some justice (or some such)? No? Well, there was a movie called that, and Reeves was in it. Also in the movie? Chris Evans, the future Captain America himself. Anyways, no one probably remembers the movie, it wasn’t very memorable, but apparently it did well enough for Fox to greenlight a sequel called “Street Kings 2: Motor City”. As the name implies, they’ve moved the action to Detroit, and Ray Liotta headlines. Check out the (very short) teaser trailer below and DVD cover to your left.

Street Kings 2: Motor City moves the action to Michigan and explores the world of dirty cops on the violent streets of Detroit. Marty Kingston (Liotta) is an undercover narcotics detective who is shot and barely survives a drug bust gone wrong to save the life of his partner. When his partner is killed by a masked gunman four years later, Marty must team up with the hotheaded homicide detective Dan Sullivan (Hatosy) to investigate a string of brutal cop murders and hunt down the cop killer. The investigation that ensues is shrouded in deception and loaded with plot twists that question the line between the rules of law and justice.

Starring Ray Liotta, Shawn Hatosy , Clifton Powell, Kevin Chapman, Ele Bardha, and directed by Chris Fisher, who last directed the sequel to “Donnie Darko” called “S. Darko”.

Look for “Street Kings 2″ on DVD and Blu-ray from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment on April 19, 2011.

I remember the movie and thought it was pretty damn good. Felt very indie. Though I love Ray Liotta, I probably wont be seeing this one. No House MD on the credits lol. Hugh Laurie is a guy I want to see in more serious movie roles. Also, I thought Whitaker brought his A game in the first movie like always (except for panic room)

Ill watch it just cause Liotta and Hatosy are in it

What’s up with all these ONCE A-list actors starring in all these B-Movies that go STV??? Ray Liotta, Cuba gooding Jr. Wesley Snipes, Jean Claude Van Damme, etc.?????

…In what universe was Van Damme ever A-List? The others starred in movies that actually received acclaim and awards, Van Damme was just a brief celebrity of fad action movies of which all involving him doing the splits at some point!

Being an “A-list” doesn’t mean you win awards, it just means you were, at one point, a highly sought-after movie star in Hollywood who got paid the maximum for your movies. JCVD was, indeed, an A-lister once upon a time.
