Holden and Yuen Join AMC’s the Walking Dead

AMC’s “The Walking Dead” TV series, based on the long-running indie comic book by Robert Kirkman, has added two fresh pieces of meat to its burgeoning cast: the beautiful Laurie Holden (below) from “Silent Hill” and who was also in “Dead” producer/showrunner Frank Darabont’s “The Mist”, and newcomer Steven Yuen.

Holden will play Andrea, a survivor who is very handy with a sniper rifle (not a bad trait to have in a world overrun by the living dead), while Yuen will play Glenn, a young survivor who befriends and saves the life of Rick, the main character played Andrew Lincoln, an ex-cop from a small town who wakes up in the midst of the zombie apocalypse.

Also in the cast, Jeffrey DeMunn and Jon Bernthal, with “Prison Break’s” Sarah Wayne Callies recently added as the female lead.

Frank Darabont will direct the pilot episode, which is scheduled to air in October of this year.
