Let’s face it, being trapped in a supermarket with just your ordinary shoppers is bad enough, but add winged bat-like things with fangs and other assorted nightmarish creatures to the mix, and it’s just gonna suck big time. That’s the plot of Frank Darabont’s “The Mist”, which was based on the Stephen King story of the same name, and starred Thomas Jane. To help promote the release of the DVD, the studio is giving away free DVD copies of “The Mist” (along with 4 other of their favorite Stephen King films), and all you have to do is tell them how you would defend a supermarket surrounded by creatures using nothing but items found in said supermarkets. More details below.
Following a violent thunderstorm, artist David Drayton and a small town community come under vicious attack from creatures prowling in a thick and unnatural mist. Local rumors point to an experiment called the ‘The Arrowhead Project’ conducted at a nearby top-secret military base, but questions as to the origins of the deadly vapor are secondary to the group’s overall chances for survival. Retreating to a local supermarket, Drayton and the survivors must face-off against each other before taking a united stand against an enemy they cannot even see.
