Idris Elba and Uhura Join The Losers

That’s Idris Elba and Zoe Saldana, to be exact. The two actors have joined the cast of Warner Bros. and Silver Pictures’ live-action adaptation of the D.C. Vertigo comic book “The Losers”, which despite popular belief, is not actually about the cast of The Surreal Life. The flick had previously signed on the Comedian himself, Jeffrey Dean Morgan of “Watchmen” fame, for the male lead.

According to THR, “The Losers” is about a Special Forces team betrayed by its handler and left for dead. The “losers” regroup in the interest of revenge, the opportunity to remove their names from a secret CIA death list and to conduct covert operations against the CIA and its interests.

Zoe Saldana was recently in J.J. Abrams’ reboot of “Star Trek”, in which she plays a younger (and very hot) Uhura, and Elba was recently in “28 Weeks Later”, as well as the upcoming Beyonce-Ali Larter thriller “Obsessed”.

Sylvain White (“Stomp the Yard”) is directing from a script by Peter Berg and James Vanderbilt. One presumes much stomping will take place in “The Losers”.

Below: Zoe Saldana. Did I mention she’s really purty?
