Back when I was still reading comic books, D.C. used to have an alternate universe type of book line called “Elseworlds”, basically their version of Marvel’s “What if…”, only, well, more well thought-out and better looking. (Let’s face it, some of those “What if…” comics were pretty shoddy.) The best Elseworlds stories I’ve found were always the ones centered around Batman and his alter ego Bruce Wayne, and what would happen if Batman was born in Victorian Era England (“Gotham by Gaslight”), Batman was also Superman (“Superman: Speeding Bullets”), Batman was Dracula (“Holy Terror”), etc.
Which is probably why these non-fan art Batman as a Medieval Knight photos are so appealing to me. These beauties are the creations of one Samuel Lee and the inspired folks at Prince Armory, which we’re told “offers the pinacle of custom hand crafted armor, costumes, and leather products”. Basically, got a fantasy fetish you want to live out (or, er, wear?), they’ll build it for you for a price.
Like, say, what if Batman was a Medieval Knight? Well then he would look kinda like this (model Carlos Blanchard plays Wayne in the pics below):
