What If Batman Was a Badass Medieval Knight…

Medieval Knight Batman by Samuel Lee

Back when I was still reading comic books, D.C. used to have an alternate universe type of book line called “Elseworlds”, basically their version of Marvel’s “What if…”, only, well, more well thought-out and better looking. (Let’s face it, some of those “What if…” comics were pretty shoddy.) The best Elseworlds stories I’ve found were always the ones centered around Batman and his alter ego Bruce Wayne, and what would happen if Batman was born in Victorian Era England (“Gotham by Gaslight”), Batman was also Superman (“Superman: Speeding Bullets”), Batman was Dracula (“Holy Terror”), etc.

Which is probably why these non-fan art Batman as a Medieval Knight photos are so appealing to me. These beauties are the creations of one Samuel Lee and the inspired folks at Prince Armory, which we’re told “offers the pinacle of custom hand crafted armor, costumes, and leather products”. Basically, got a fantasy fetish you want to live out (or, er, wear?), they’ll build it for you for a price.

Like, say, what if Batman was a Medieval Knight? Well then he would look kinda like this (model Carlos Blanchard plays Wayne in the pics below):

Cool Stories From Zergnet

There was actually an Elseworlds story “Batman: Knight of the Round Table” and this would fit the part!.

    Well, that’s indescribably badass.

Man, Elseworlds was great. It’s all about Superman: Red Son for me.

Red Son is definitely one of the best. Kingdom Come is my personal favorite, with Red Son next, and The Justice Files third.

Also has anyone noticed the detail on the sword. it has the Batman and Robin symbol from Schumaker’s “Batman and Robin” as the hilt!!

Cool pics! Elseworlds is a great comic series. Red Son is really good and I remember my friends drooling over Speeding Bullets but my all time fave was The Doom That Came To Gotham. It was Mike Mignola’s version of Batman with a serious H.P Lovecraft twist, just awesome and original.
