If You Kill This Final Destination 5 Theatrical Trailer, You Can Take Over its (Repetitive) Life Essence!

It amuses me to no end that the makers of the “Final Destination” films don’t even try to pretend they’re doing something new with each installment. I mean, there is a little “twist” this time around (if you kill someone, you get to live their life, or some such nonsense), but the plot is identical to the last four movies — some kid gets a vision, saves everyone, then Death comes for them. Adding the always officious Courtney Vance as a douchey bureaucrat who suspects our hero of causing the accident is reminiscent of the first movie, and will probably be as “real world logical” as the film gets, which is to say, not very. Anyways, enough of my spiel; check out the new, theatrical trailer for “Final Destination 5” (via MetaCafe).

In “Final Destination 5,” Death is just as omnipresent as ever, and is unleashed after one man’s premonition saves a group of coworkers from a terrifying suspension bridge collapse. But this group of unsuspecting souls was never supposed to survive, and, in a terrifying race against time, the ill-fated group frantically tries to discover a way to escape Death’s sinister agenda.

Starring Emma Bell, Nicholas D’Agosto, Miles Fisher, Arlen Escarpeta, Jacqueline MacInnes-Wood, P.J. Byrne, Ellen Wroe, David Koechner, Courtney B. Vance, Tony Todd and directed by Steven Quale.

Death comes stalkin’ August 12, 2011.
