Images from Bryan Fuller’s Aborted Munsters Reboot aka Mockingbird Lane TV Special

Mockingbird Lane - Season Pilot

I have to admit, I really thought Bryant Fuller’s “Munsters” reboot (since re-titled “Mockingbird Lane”) would look, I don’t know, more “Munsters”-like. Except for the cousin Marilyn character, who looks exactly like the original girl from the TV show, the rest of the cast is kinda … different. I also don’t get casting Jerry O’Connell as Frankenstein’s Monster. But hey, these are just images from the pilot (now Halloween TV show special), so the footage themselves might be more convincing and appropriate, I guess.

We’ll just have to see when the TV special airs later this month on October 26th on NBC. Until then, check out a fresh batch of images featuring all the main characters from “Mockingbird Lane” all dressed up with no place to go. Well, that’s not exactly true. They have Halloween to look forward to. After that, they’ll have no place to go, with Fuller already having moved on to his “Hannibal” TV show. Even he knows a sinking ship when he sees it, apparently.

The pilot/TV special was directed by Bryan Singer (no relation to Bryan Fuller, heh), and stars Jerry O’Connell as Herman Munster, Portia de Rossi as his wife Lily, Eddie Izzard as Grandpa, Mason Cook as Eddie and Charity Wakefield as Marilyn.

I don’t know WTF that was, but it was certainly not The Munsters. Not even a re-imagining.

  • RODNEY

Let’s try do it all over with THE REAL Munsters with brad garret as herman, sela ward as lilly,
paul “Sonny” from IT’S A LIVING as grandpa with the munsters theme and the munsters koach
and aim it to the silver screen for the 50th anniversary of fall 2014!

I liked it…as long as I tried to forget it was the munsters, change some things around names mostly and it would be better.
