In No-Brainer News, Gina Carano Will Front the Female Expendables Movie

Gina Carano in Haywire (2011) Movie ImageSo I guess that previously talked about female version of “The Expendables” is a go after all. To be honest with you, I wasn’t sure if the guys behind it was being serious or just pulling everyone’s leg. Turns out, yeah, they were dead serious after all.

Especially in light of this news that Gina Carano (last seen kicking ass in “Haywire”, and soon be kicking ass in “The Fast and the Furious 6″ and “In the Blood”, where she will once again play the lead in the “Taken”-esque movie) is the first actor to be attached in a starring role.

From the sounds of it, it appears as if Carano will be playing the film’s Sylvester Stallone character — i.e. the lead, or as lead-ish as you can get in a movie starring a bunch of well-known action heroes.

Carano will star in the still untitled movie for producer Adi Shankar and his 1984 Private Defense Contractors shingle. Shankar is said to be currently in talks with “several prominent actresses affiliated with the action genre” to sign up alongside Carano.

Dutch Southern will write the script.

So, who else should Shankar be putting on his to-talk-to list? And what exactly would we call this movie? If “The Expendables” is “The Expendables”, and this is an all-female version, then how about … “The Looks Can Killers”? No? Hey, I’m just spitballing here. You try doing better.

With Cynthia Rothrock as the villain

I’d have Rothrock as the muscle in the bad group. That group would consist of
Sharon Stone, Carrie Anne Moss, Peta Wilson, Halle Berry and Michelle Rodriguez!

Michelle Pfeiffer, Kathleen Turner, Elen Barkin, Meg Ryan, Jamie Lee Curtis, Renee Russo, Jodie Foster, Catherine Zeta Jones, Charlize Theron, and Salma Hayek could round out the veterans of the cast for the subsequent sequels.
While newer action stars like Angelina Jolie, Milla Jovavich, Kate Beckinsale, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Biel, Uma Thurman, Lena Hedley, Jessica Alba, Scarlett Johanssen, Rachel Nichols, Kiera Knightley, Maggie Q, Noomi Rapace and Rhona Mitra and could be brought in to fill the respective teams.
Later installments could be rounded out by lesser known genre staples such as Vivica Fox, Gina Gershon, Rose McGowen, Dina Meyer, Eliza Dushku, Summer Glau, Zoe Bell, Tabrett Bethe, Ali Larter, Katee Sackhoff, Jolene Blalock, Kristianna Loken, Sienna Guillroy, Yvonne Stahovski, Jeri Ryan, Sherri Moon Zombie and Elsa Patakay.

          ROCK ON MAN ROCK ON!!!

Needless to say I have thought about this at length. LOL. I’ve broken it down into five films with three members of the original crew (Davis, Moore and Carano) being in each installment with new additions to the team with each sequel as well as different groups of enemies, cameos and supporting characters throughout the series.

Dude I wish you lived near me. My friend and I have a project brewing I think you’d love but we’re trying to keep it on the low so no one steals our ideas. But you’re casting is usually spot on and together we come up with some great stuff, I mean stuff Hollywood should be crediting us with LOL. Anyway I don’t remeber if I still have your email address or if you have mine but we’ll figure something out cause I really think you’d be an asset.
