I guess they watch movies with interesting characters, witty dialogue, good acting, pretty simple but effective plots, beautiful locations and a certain sense of...adventure and fun. Something you seeminly can´t create and reimagine with bland CGI and blue screen-environments. Sorry, but those movies just felt fresh and fun, the last one was just lackluster and seeminly tried to hard to open the room for more lackluster sequels. Sure, the old movies may not be flawless but they had charme and none of them felt out of place, except this last one. If you enjoyed it, fine but I didn´t need that one and for me the series ended with part three.

Both earlier Indy sequals suffered from a slew of bad reviews as well. I don't see this one having any problems that are different from the originals. Temple is especially riddled with problems. I'm not sure what old Indy films people are watching.

Agreed with the first review- I'm not sure which movie this guy was watching.

About the time he applauded the script I couldn't read his tripe anymore.

I'm a huge fan of the first three Indie films, but this one fell very short, instead going for the typical action-packed, substance-less, no depth plot. (Something that films for the last 10 years have been plagued with.)

Sorry, gonna go with the first review. That movie was bad, not only as an Indy-sequel. And the weakest point is the script, which crammed too many things into one, Communists, Telepathic russians, UFO´s, atomic bombs and left no room for the characters. Pretty much everyone except Indy had nothing to do. What´s up with the Reunion with his old flame, if she´s just standing around doing nothing? What´s with the character Ox, which goes from babbling idiot to genius from one second to the other. Or the turncoat Mac, who nobody cares about. Or Cate Blanchet as villain, who is by far the most uninteresting and ridicilous oponent ever. Can she read minds? Never know, never explained. Just another pseudo-plot thrown in for good measures. Don´t get me started on the CGI-filled action scenes (falling 3 times, jeep on a whipping tree, flying fridge). They do not only force you to suspend your disbelief, they thow you right into a WB-cartoon. Ok, the movie have been fun from time to time, like with the chase scene around and through the campus. But after 19 years of teasing and with a team like Spielberg, Lucas and Ford you shouldn´t ask yourself why the expectations where so high, you should wonder why the weren´t matched!
