After grabbing the U.S. rights to Johnny Tri Nguyen’s actioner “The Clash”, Indomina Releasing is now going into the French horror movie business with Franck Richard’s “The Pack”. Press release below.

Indomina Releasing, a new distributor of feature films, acquired all North American rights to the French horror film, THE PACK , from international sales agent, Films Distribution. THE PACK first premiered at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival, where Indomina executives first saw the movie. The film, starring Yolande Moreau ( Micmacs, The Last Mistress ) and Emilie Dequenne ( The Girl on the Train ), was written and directed by Franck Richard, produced by Verane Frediani, Christophe Louis and Frank Ribiere, and executive produced by Priscilla Bertin, Jeremy Burdek, Nadia Khamlichi and Adrian Plitowski. Indomina Releasing’s Vice President of Acquisitions Rob Williams and Films Distribution’s Managing Partner Nicolas Brigaud-Robert negotiated the deal on behalf of the filmmakers. The deal was announced today by Jasbinder Singh Mann, C.E.O. of Indomina Group, overseeing global operations.

“Franck Richard delivers a disturbing, gory, French horror that will leave audience with a chilling aftertaste,” said Singh Mann. “ THE PACK expands the range of genre-based content of the Indomina brand, and we are proud to add THE PACK to our growing slate.”

“We were courted in Cannes by several US distributors for THE PACK ,” said Briguad-Robert. “We decided to go with Indomina because they are an aggressive new player, coming in with very competent people, and a convincing vision of the market. We felt that, in their hands, THE PACK is a winner.”

THE PACK follows Charlotte (Emilie Dequenne), a beautiful but rough around the edges kind of girl, who drives a beat-up station wagon in the countryside of northern France. Her journey takes a turn when she picks up a mysterious hitchhiker (Benjamine Biolay), with whom she strikes an unusual bond. Stopping at a roadside diner, her new companion strangely disappears, and Charlotte finds herself knocked unconscious and held captive. She soon encounters a peculiar and disturbed woman (Yolande Moreau), and discovers that her blood is being used to feed a “pack” of flesh-eating ghouls. What will happen to her next?

A selection at the 2010 Screamfest in Los Angeles, THE PACK recently received Best Editing and Best Special Effects honors.

Indomina Releasing also recently acquired Griff the Invisible (Ryan Kwanten, Maeve Dermody), Wasted on the Young (Oliver Ackland, Alelaide Clemens, Alex Russell), Bodyguards and Assassins (Donnie Yen, Leon Lai) True Legend (Vincent Zhao, Zhou Xun, Michelle Yeoh, David Carradine) and Fire of Conscience (Leon Lai, Richie Ren).

No trailer for “The Pack” yet, but here is a 2-minute clip in French:
