Intrepid Pictures Brings Forth The Fourth Horseman

Okay, so the premise of “The Fourth Horseman” doesn’t sound very original. In fact, it sounds very generic, one of those, “Wait, didn’t I already see a movie with this [kinda] premise before?” Still, I think there is some promise here, mostly in the, “good action” level, though I don’t foresee it being anything great. The news is that Intrepid Pictures have acquired the spec script “The Fourth Horseman” by Marshall E. Uzzle and Perry Fair, and has set writers F. Paul Benz and Steve Tomlin to rewrite it with an eye toward moving into production.
Here’s the plot:
The film centers on a young priest sent by his church’s secret order to kill a teenage girl. She is believed to be the future mother of the Fourth Horseman of the Apocalypse, destined to join siblings War, Pestilence and Famine in destroying the world. But when the priest becomes romantically involved with his target and she becomes pregnant, he’s forced to face the possibility that he may have spawned the child from hell.
Like I said, it’s not exactly original stuff. Take out the profession of the hero (a priest) and you’ve seen this movie before, except usually it’s a hitman/assassin and his potential victim. The whole “child from hell” aspect will make it somewhat new, though.
Nevertheless, it has potential…
