The new Cinemax show “Banshee” boasts as being “from the creator of ‘True Blood'”, which is really not a big draw for me, to tell you the truth. “True Blood” is kind of a terrible show (yes, send me letters, I could give a flying flip), but what little we’re being shown of “Banshee” looks intriguing. Of course, it’s basically 30 seconds of dialogue with one-second flashes of visuals at the end. But still…
“Banshee” is set in a small town in Pennsylvania Amish country, and follows “an enigmatic ex-con/martial arts expert posing as a murdered sheriff who imposes his own brand of justice while also cooking up plans that serve his own interests.”
That plan apparently involves hot girls driving fast, frantic sex, and fights in the rain. Hey, it’s Cinemax, if there isn’t some type of over-the-top violence mixed with gratuitous T&A in this thing, I’d be shocked, and more than a little disappointed.
“Banshee” premieres on January 2013, and stars Antony Starr, Ben Cross, Cedric Stewart, Frankie Faison, Ivana Miličević, Rus Blackwell, Ryann Shane, and Ulrich Thomsen.
