Intriguing Plot Synopsis for Marcus Dunstan’s The Collection

Josh Stewart in The Collector (2009) Movie ImageAlthough everyone told me the film was an absolute turd, I was thoroughly impressed with Marcus Dunstan’s “The Collector”, which is essentially “Saw” in a dark house. The film’s surprising finale left the door wide open for a sequel, which is currently heading into the pre-production phase of the cinematic birthing process. Shock Till You Drop got the scoop on the plot synopsis, though I’m a little concerned that Dunstan intends to release the film in 3D. What the hell, people? Why filmmakers continue to kick this decomposing horse is beyond me. But, I digress. A word to the wise: If you haven’t seen “The Collector”, you might want to move on, as a major spoiler is contained within. The last thing I want to do is ruin the flick for you.

As promised, the synopsis:

Josh Stewart will return as Arkin who escapes with his life from the vicious grips of “The Collector” during an entrapment party where he adds beautiful Elena to his “Collection.” Instead of recovering from the trauma, Arkin is suddenly abducted from the hospital by mercenaries hired by Elena’s wealthy father. Arkin is blackmailed to team up with the mercenaries and track down The Collector’s booby trapped hide out and save Elena from his sadistic rituals.

Although no release date has been set as of this writing, “The Collection” will hopefully hit theaters sometime next year. This, of course, is pure speculation on my part.

Author: Todd Rigney

Todd was raised on a steady diet of Hollywood blockbusters, late-night Cinemax programming, and USA’s “Up All Night,” which may explain why his taste in movies is more than a little questionable. When he isn’t providing news and reviews for Beyond Hollywood, he can be found lounging lazily on his couch, perched in front of his television, or dwelling in places where direct sunlight can be easily avoided. He's happily married, in his 30's, and totally badass. If you'd like to reach Todd, you can follow him on Twitter or send him email/scoops to todd (at) beyondhollywood.com.
