Iron Man 2 Easter Egg Revealed?

Remember that Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury easter egg at the end of the first “Iron Man”? Well word is Jon Favreau has plans for something similar in the sequel, and like in the first, this easter egg will show up once the credits have rolled. Yes, that means you’ll have to sit there like a big dummy watching a seemingly neverending series of names before you can ooh and ahh over what will probably be a 30-second long convo between two actors, something you could have just waited to see on YouTube the day the film opens anyway.

So what’s this easter egg? It’s very much in line with the first one, according to BadTaste (via Collider):

A 100% trusted source (NOT from the production/distribution, but very familiar with the movie) confirmed us today that there will be an easter egg in IM2. It’s an extra scene, just like the one in the first movie, after the end credits. We are able to tell you what’s about! It’s a scene about… Captain America and Thor! Maybe this doesn’t seem a big reveal, but it’s nice to have a confirmation.

Now notice that the site says “It’s a scene about … Captain America and Thor”. It doesn’t actually say it’s a scene with Cap and Thor. My guess? Nick Fury and Iron Man will be having a chat about the two superheroes mentioned.

Of course, Marvel could surprise us and have Chris Hemsworth show up as Thor and Chris Evans as Captain America. The former seems more likely, since Hemsworth is already shooting “Thor”, while Evans has yet to suit up for Cap.

It could very well be a scene like this one…

While I like those ideas, and those movies need a good buzz from Iron Man 2 to help them get noticed. I think Hawkeye would have made the most sense to actually show up at the end of Iron Man 2.

It would and it wouldn't. It would make sense as a lead in to use the character in Avengers. But it wouldn't because most people outside of comic fans don't know the character that well. A scene introducing Hawkeye could easily fit in the actual film of IM2.

Them utilizing Black Widow as a S.H.I.E.L.D agent flows smoothly along with Hawkeye making an appearance(as a S.H.I.E.L.D agent). Remember, most non-comic book fans had no idea who the hell Iron Man was,now he's a household name. The same thing will happen hopefully for the other cast if done right. Each upcoming character needs a subtle intro from previous movies to conjure non-fans curiosity before making a full on debut to also help build it up instead of just throwing characters who won't have their own movie into The Avengers movie, oh basically you just said that my bad.LOL!

Ok. Nick Fury in the movie is from marvel Ultimate Universe. He is a bad ass,and i am not sure a good guy either. anyway he is much better than the ordinary white one.

Read this on and had to tell you…

“An anonymous source claims that Olivia Munn plays Janet Van Dyne, who has a small role in this film and becomes the Wasp in The Avengers. As usual, the caveats about anonymous sources apply. [Forces of Geek via Slashfilm]“

She's been associated with everyone from Scarlett Witch to the Wasp to the janitor, most of it thanks to her constantly talking up her role, which will undoubtedly be tiny in the finish product. Girl knows how to shamelessly promote herself, you gotta give her that.

  • Dedpool aka Jiinx

Oh I know but Ulik REALLY want's Janet and Hank in it so I had to post that.

  • ulik

LOL! Yeah, Dedpool, you know I'd be upset if they kept Hank and Janet out of the Avengers. We know that Black Widow will be a S.H.I.E.L.D agent but she's really a double, triple, quadruple, agent if you will. So she won't and shouldn't be an official Avenger yet, the same with Hawkeye, he's more of stealth/covert type guy that would be a perfect S.H.I.E.L.D agent. I want to see some diversity in the Avengers roster, that's why I'm really anxious about Wasp being there too aside from the fact that she rightfully should be there anyway. As far as Olivia Munn, according to, when she did her part in Iron Man 2, she owned her lines so well that Robert Downey Jr. told everyone to give her a round of applause, so if HE was impressed then I could see why Favereau would be too and want her to be WASP. She actually fits the Ultimate version too.
