Iron Man 2 Trailer Arrives to Rock Your world

Give Paramount credit. Aside from some crummy phonecam footage that was smuggled out of Comic Con, the trailer for “Iron Man 2″ has remained pretty hidden. Well, not anymore. The studio has finally released the official trailer for Jon Favreau’s highly-anticipated comic book sequel onto the interwebs via Apple. Check it out, boys, and try not to drool too much on your keyboard at the sight of Iron Man and War Machine slapping on the metal faceplate to do some mega damage on the poor slobs that are facing them.

Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment present the highly anticipated sequel to the blockbuster film based on the legendary Marvel Super Hero “Iron Man”, reuniting director Jon Favreau and Oscar nominee Robert Downey Jr. In “Iron Man 2″, the world is aware that billionaire inventor Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is the armored Super Hero Iron Man. Under pressure from the government, the press and the public to share his technology with the military, Tony is unwilling to divulge the secrets behind the Iron Man armor because he fears the information will slip into the wrong hands. With Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow), and James “Rhodey” Rhodes (Don Cheadle) at his side, Tony forges new alliances and confronts powerful new forces.

Starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Scarlett Johansson, Sam Rockwell, Mickey Rourke, and Samuel L. Jackson. Directed by Jon Favreau.

FREAKING AMAZING!!! I so can’t wait to see this. RDJ and Favs have done it again. No I’m sorry. they eclipsed the first one. War Machine looks properly badass and it looks like the IM suit has the Triangle uni-beam projector on chest plate. Nice. And it looks like we see what happens when th military or someone basically mass produces the armor. i’m hoping they’re automated suits.

Looks great, except for ScarJo. The Iron Man franchise is populated with actual grownups, and his gal’s 10 years too young.

All that he said and more. I have been waiting for this trailer since the comic-con footage leak and Favreau has delivered again. I have no fear that this will in fact be better than the first, and I for one am glad that Don Cheadle is getting a big role in something and finally getting his due. Terrence Howard was good but Don Cheadle has the Machismo needed to bring War Machine to life. I believe he is a stronger actor than Howard but has been given less of a chance to take the lead. For those that haven’t seen Traitor, See it.

Also, Dedpool, im not sure if you saw on the Ninja Assasin clip post, but speaking of bad ass, I got my hands on a copy of The Hunted with Christopher Lambert. I broke down and gave up the one man hunt to Amazon lol. Also check out this new anime called Sword of the Stranger.

Anyway, Back to Iron Man 2. This makes me think of how great it will be to see Marvel over the next few years, if they can pull off Thor and Captain America. I find Captain America an easy pull off that could be great give then right team, but Thor I am still worried about. I love everything I’m hearing…and they have my boy Ray Stevenson playing a role which makes me happy (Good ‘ol Tidus Pullo). However I put this character in the realm of shouldn’t be done simply because its too much for normal people to take seriously. I think I would love it because I’m all about Mythology, but its the same reason Galactus wasn’t a big space man with a purple pope helmet in the Fantastic Four Movie. People wouldn’t accept it. For my sake I hope I’m wrong and people jump all over it like beans on rice, because if they do, Avengers will come to pass. I also love the idea of the Hulk being the bad guy for the first movie. Anyway, My ankle hurts and I gotta put it back up so I dont end up crippled. I just had to get on and rant about this trailer after being bed ridden for the last week and not being able to post. The Strongest Will be Back soon. uno!~

Definitely saw and responded to the “ninja Assassin” clip post you made. Well I think Ray will do decent as Volstagg, and give him a depth that the comics never have as he’s mostly played for comic relief. Thor is shaping up to be a rather unique cast and I for one applaud it. If all goes well we’ll have a very richly done Asgard. I like that they’re casting outside the norm with Idris Elba playing Heimdal, and Tanabou (sp?) Asano as Hogun. Very itneresting choices. Captain America is easy, yet tricky as you don’t want it campy and over the top, but you also want it to feel like a super hero film. Keeping it in the 40′s is a good idea though because it grounds the character in history, as well as allowing them to tell the story without it being in flashbacks. I definitely think it she be closer to the Ultimate Cap that was more of a soldier than super hero.

Most definitely. I think The 40s beginning for Cap will be a good starting place. I just don’t want them to do like they did in the Ultimate Avengers animation as well as a few other productions the year that came out and re tell the awakening of captain america as the Avengers beginning. I’m just sick of hearing the story. I would rather it be at the end of Caps movie than the beginning of the Avengers movie. Anyway, I’m in the midst of a script and must try to focus through my roommate playing Modern Warfare 2, 3 feet away on a 52 inch TV. We shall talk more as the developments arise.

Yeah I feel the same. I think having him discovered at the end of the Cap movie. It’d be a nice ending point. By the Avengers movie you could have had him thawed and already done a mission or two for SHIELD. Avengers should be his transition from soldier to superhero.
