Iron Man 3 Trailer Hits….And This Fan’s Reaction

The battle we have waited for…

The official “Iron Man 3″ trailer has been posted…and viewed…several times (man I am sad)…but you are not here to hear my grumblings on the trailer…yet.  Here is the trailer and after…my response.

As you can see Tony’s world, is pretty much destroyed (In every sense of the word), now wipe the drool from your mouths, there is much to discuss. First, this trailer alone is better than the entirety of “Iron Man 2″! It seems director Shane Black and Marvel went back to the serious tone established in the first film, not the goofy, stupid and nonsensical ramblings of the sequel. Do I think there are possibly TOO many villains in this film, yes. BUT it seems they are attacking Tony Stark from ALL possible angles, psychologically, physically, and business..lly. I think the Mandarin looks great and I think Sir Ben Kingsley will do a very admirable job. I do not like the new “Iron Patriot” War Machine armor (if that’s what it is, I’m hoping not). Now the Iron Man suit, oh the suit. Although it looks better in the film than in the Comic-Con photos, it still doesn’t have enough red, in my opinion. I think the cast looks great, the tone looks pitch perfect, and hopefully this is the Iron Man’s “The Dark Knight”. Us Marvel fans who love serious psychological drama have not been recognized, but finally it seems we may. I have loved/liked almost every Marvel movie that has come out (except the first 2 “X-men” films, “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”, and “Spider-Man 3″). So I have very high hopes for this film and hopefully we get more into what is going on in Tony’s head and him being a DANGEROUS drunk instead of a SILLY drunk.

“Iron Man 3″ breaking the sound barrier straight into theaters May 3rd, 2013!

Tim next step needs to be that R rated Deadpool film Ryan Reynolds is always going on about.

  • Aegon the Conqueror

Ok so tell him to get his ass over here, there are a lot of folk who want an explanation on the X-men thing.

Looks awesome! Now I’m really excited! There is however one problem. Where in the hell is the AC/DC music? Haha

    • Lazz82

They replaced AC/DC with “Battleship” trailer music…: )

      • W.A.S

Well maybe the next trailer will to take some of the darkness out of it. :) Although I do like the darker path.

        • W.A.S

Just watched the trailer from when they show the marvel logo to the end on mute with “shoot to thrill” in the back ground……….. It brought tears to my eyes.

  • Lazz82

My ass is here! lol….and I have explained my X-men point in a previous response…and just so you all know..I will be on tonight after 11PM to further explain any other questions…

  • Aegon the Conqueror

That was another problem with the Wolverine Origins story, the huge back story that they gave Creed and Logan which was made null by their reunion in X1. Granted comic book fans would know they are brothers, but most of the movie going public would not. So if you had never read the comics before, and you watched the X-men movies in chronological order, not a lot would make sense. For the life of me I will never understand why they replaced Brian Cox as William Stryker.
X2 was the strongest film in the entire franchise until First Class IMO. Oh and movie Cyclops has caused me to hate the character throughout all media and for all time.

    • Juggernaut

Agreed on the Logan/Creed relathionship. I’m also with you on the Stryker thing in XO:W. They could have atleast hired an actor who more closely resembled Cox. And again agree with X2 being the best installment until ‘First Class’. However, I couldn’t disagree more with your stance on Cyclops. He was is and always will be the man!

okay last time I checked this is an article about Iron man 3… so can we stop with the x men talk? I actually enjoy reading the comments on these articles because most of the people that comment are pretty knowledgeable about the comics.. but it’s annoying when people go and completely change the subject

        • Lazz82

I apologize it’s my fault, I said X1 and X2 were some of the worst Marvel movie in my article..I apologize.

        • Juggernaut

So what is your favorte X-Men movie?

          • Minymee87

Either X2 or First class. But honestly, I’m not a huge fan of the X-men comics in general. And I’m kind of over Wolverine. Fox is all over the place with their story lines, Wolverine Origins was just garbage, and I just don’t see a lot of the characters working in a realistic movie setting. All of the movies are a bit corny for me. I want them to get their shit together, and then just completely start fresh with a blank slate, and then start doing what Marvel Studios did with their connected universe.

Not in those movies he wasn’t!!!! Sorry they played my man in those. I mean seriously. You want a good Cyclops on Screen watch 90′s X-men, X-Men:Evolution, Wolverine and the X-Men or the X-Men Anime. They were all very good but very different interpretations.

        • Juggernaut

I was moreso talking about the character in general. Sure he was reduced to the guy that Wolverine punked in those but in the comics and all of the appearances in the medium mentioned above he was cool as shit. Years ago Wizard did an article casting a 90′s X-Men and it was by far the best! Michael Beihn as Cyclops!!! I was hoping that with the First class sequel they’d get a chance to re-introduce Cyclops and do him properly. With the news of the cast from the first three films being incorporated into the story that seems unlikel : (

  • Aegon the Conqueror

Miny we are discussing comic book adaptations as a whole and why some of em work and others don’t. Voicing our opinions about X-men in regards of Iron Man and why we think it will work or not. It’s all connected
