Iron Man Comic Con Extended Trailer Online

Written by Nix | July 30th, 2007 | 1 Comment |

If you were at Comic Con over the weekend, and you were a comic book geek, you probably went nuts over the “Iron Man” panel, where director Jon Favreau showed a new, extended trailer (I don’t even want to call it a trailer, but I guess it could be) from the movie. The whole thing was shot with a camera phone, and the quality is not great, but it’s serviceable. Even better, all the parts that are meant to make you stand up and go, “Wow”? Well, they did.

Tony Stark, a billionaire industrialist and inventor, is kidnapped and forced by his captors to design and build a weapon. Secretly, Stark instead creates a mechanized suit of armor and escapes. Returning to the U.S., he discovers a dangerous plot and becomes Iron Man to stop it.

It’s more than a trailer, actually. There are whole scenes here, including Iron Man in his old Grey armor taking on a whole army. And it also appears as if Jon Favreau has kept his sense of humor. This movie looks like it’s going to be funny, action-packed, and just basically kick all kinds of ass.

Now if only they’ll release a HD version already…

(Thanks to Dan for directing me to the video.)
