Iron Man and Wanted Superbowl Trailers

Written by Nix | February 3rd, 2008 | 3 Comments |

I have to admit that I didn’t exactly watch the entire Superbowl this year, mostly because it was a defensive struggle (by which I mean Tom Brady and Eli Manning stunk up the joint), but also because I had family over and spent most of my time running around. I did, though, manage to catch the brand spanking new “Iron Man” trailer; hard to miss, since it showed up early in the game. And then later, a trailer for the Angelina Jolie actioner “Wanted”.

When Tony Stark is forced to create a life support suit to keep him alive after an accident he decides to use the technology in his suit to fight crime.

Very cool, don’t you think? Watch a bigger, more high-res version here.

There were also trailers for “Jumper” (not new, I think), “Prince Capsian” (also not new, I believe), and “Wanted”, below:

Angelina Jolie plays an assassin training James Mcavoy in the movie trailer for “Wanted” movie in this Super Bowl commercial and tells him to “Curve the bullet” to shoot a target behind her as she stands firm and simply blinks as the slow motion bullet blows her hair as it passes by her head. The trailer for this movie is full of fantastic and unbelievable stunts. Morgan Freeman plays the leader of the group of elite assassins.

“Iron Man” takes flight May 2, and Angelina Jolie sexes up the killing game June 27.

I wasn’t that impressed with the “Iron Man” preview. The suit still looks like it’s made out of plastic and that ending looks like it came out of a video game.

Yeah I agree on the ending. Very stiff and obviously CGI.

The reason it looks stiff at the end is that Jon Favreau is waiting for the folks at ILM to start adding the effects (as he said on Craig Ferguson’s Late Late Show, recently). Give it time…
