So there’s this TV show on Fox called “Glee” where 20-something actors play high school kids who sings a lot of pop songs. I guess it’s a musical TV show or something. Anyways, one of the show’s stars is a blonde name Heather Morris, who plays a cheerleader on the show. According to Movieweb, Morris is currently on top of someone’s list to play Buffy in Warner Bros.’ Joss Whedon-less reboot of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”.
While in Nashville this past week, we had a chance to meet up with an associate of Dolly Parton’s Sandollar Production Company, which recently sold the Buffy the Vampire Slayer rights to Warner Bros. for a big screen reboot. The source claims that Glee’s Heather Morris has been brought up many times in regards to who will follow in Kristy Swanson and Sarah Michelle Gellar’s footsteps. And now we are hearing that the actress is actively being sought to take on this highly coveted role.
Morris is certainly blonde and pretty enough for the role, and being a professionally trained dancer, I’m pretty sure learning martial arts in preparation to carry out the role won’t be too much of a stretch for her. This is Hollywood, after all, where even Keanu Reeves can “know kung fu”.
So Heather Morris of “Glee” fame is your new Buffy, right? Not so fast!
“Buffy” reboot writer Whit Anderson wrote in response to the news via her Twitter page:
Careful what you retweet, loves. Inaccuracy can cause lots of unnecessary stress.
THR, meanwhile, got word from Warner Bros. about the rumored casting, and was told that “casting is not being discussed until the script is completed.” Anderson also backed that up with another tweet.
Maybe, maybe not. All I know is that Heather Morris certainly has the hot cheerleader part down:
