Is This Batman’s New Neon Glow-y Batcave in The Dark Knight Rises?

The Batcave Comic Book

Batman’s got new villains, new love interests, and even new allies in “The Dark Knight Rises”, so why not a new Batcave, too? That’s the word on the street (and by street I mean the Interwebs) about Batman’s new digs, which may or may not be using a place called the Turda Salt Mines in Romania (pictured below) as a stand-in.

POTENTIAL SPOILERS BELOW

According to another Batman site called DarkKnightRisesRumors (which is, well, all about “The Dark Knight Rises” rumors), there is a good possibility the Turda Salt Mines will be combined with a new interior Batcave set currently being built to show off Batman’s new homestead in-between all the crimefighting and saving Gotham City and such.

Of course all of these could just be rumors that don’t pan out, but it sure would be cool if this is what Batman will be walking through when next we see him in “The Dark Knight Rises” from Christopher Nolan in 2012. What we can be sure of is that Christian Bale is back as Batman, along with Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, and Michael Caine. They will be joined by new faces Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Marion Cotillard.

What the hell is that the Bat Hotel?
Seriously they need to stop fucking with the franchise.

Unless they tell us its a different dimension every time they change things

That looks great. It actually looks like the Batcave.

    Welcome Batcave!!!!.

Ugh, dude… how many times Chris Nolan have to prove that his way is THE way. Plus these are non-finished production amateurish pictures.

  • Juggernaut

Awful! I guess Nolan has been consulting Joel Shumacher for this one! Lol. Next stop Bat-Nipples!!!

    • Lexavi80

I disagree to a certain point.

If you check this pictures put here, yes, it doesn’t look a bit like a circus, however… this are non-finished production photos.

Remember how everybody was mad when Spiderman pre-production pics start circling but everybody shut up when the first official pic came out?. That’s what happens here.

Chris Nolan has been criticized in all movies but always the changes end up blowing our minds.

Give the man a grip and wait for the trailer at least.

I’m completely split down the middle with all of the info coming in on this movie. The first pic of Bane was phenomenal! Then came the teaser, also great! However, all of the spy pics and vids have been whack! The look of Bane is terrible. The Batcopter/Batwing or whatever it is just awful. Catwoman looks like a generic chick in a motorcycle outfit. Then there is the fan speculation of Talia and JGL’s mysterious role have my interest. The pic a few days ago with the waterfall looks good. Similar to the look of ‘Begins’. This is just super cheesey looking. The Batcave should be dark, dank and really cave-like. Obviously some new tech and screens will be there but not neon lights and all!!!

  • Lexavi80

The Bane pic and teaser were awesome because those were finished shots. You can’t compare anything else you see because is not finished yet.

I remember several complaints with the Thumbler because it looked like a tank and it wasn’t as slick as the other version of the Batmobile. The movie hit, the explanation was given, and now I just can’t see other vehicle than the Thumbler.

When the Joker (unfinished) pics surface, EVERYBODY went “this looks like a drag queen make-up”, “the suit looks like a Halloween costume”. The movie hit, and everybody went numb because of the combination in make-up and acting.

On the other hand, the picture of Selina Kyle in the Bat-Pod wasn’t the complete Catsuit. This was ALREADY STATED. Catwoman’s suit haven’t been seen yet.

Now people complaint about the cave!!!????. I mean, c’mon!!. What you see above are AMATEUR NON-FINISHED PICS!!!!!!!!!. You realize that, for a movie, even when you see the blackest of whole nights, there must be full lighting in order to film, and AFTER they add darkness to it??.

Wait for the damn finished shots of the cave, and then tell us if you still feel the same way.

I LOVE the look of the cave!!! I’m just tired of everybody acting like Batman is supposed to be the hobo of the superhero community. The dude is FUCKING RICH!!! Like, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Tony Stark combined!!! Why do u all think that if he were to build a hideout it would be 100% dark, dreary and bare bones? IT WOULDN’T!!!! If people are still doubting Nolan’s ability to deliver an awesome final product, you obviously haven’t been paying attention…..

    • Lexavi80

      Right on, Mr. Hatcher!!!.

Supposedly he would have built the batcave himself, otherwise if he had a huge construction crew come in, his little secret would get out pretty quickly.

The vehicles are appropriated from the weapons division. But to build the bat cave decked out like the taj majal with your butler doesn’t seem feasible. This is of course if you’re grounded in the real world.

In the comic world, it’d just be there and built to fit your wildest imagination.

I love the cries of total betrayal over AMATEUR PHOTOGRAPHS THAT MAY NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS MOVIE!

Plus, as has been said – context anyone? IF these are actual pics from the actual set… do they look finished to you? And what design aspects of the previous 2 Nolan Batman films have been total let downs?? You’re right, let’s all go back to the way things were with Shumacher and Burton, those films were of a much higher quality weren’t they!? I also liked it much better when the directors had total disregard for the core of the characters and made junk films that fulfilled their own likes.

Let the man finish his work, and do the rest of us a favour and don’t make final claims on production photos! You don’t like ‘em – then don’t look at them or comment on them!

If anybody thinks this is a light show there wrong.

I laugh at all you doubters……. It’s amazing you speak from a point of view with no basis….. You people have no vision….. Stop browsing the internet and giving yourself a migraine…… And just enjoy the FINISHED product next summer……… Because you all are a bunch of unimaginative babies who need to be shown only the post work in order to enjoy the movie….. an inside look to the film making process is not for you….. It’s for the intellectual, obviously…… See you next summer………

I take offense at being called a doubter. I’m a believer. I believe in intelligent design, ET and Santa Claus.
