What’s Isabel Lucas been up to since she tried to kill Sam Witwicky in the second “Transformers” movie? Lots, as it turns out, with roles in Tarsem Singh’s “Immortals” and the suddenly prolific Terrence Malick’s “Knight of Cups”. She’s now set to star in Hyde Park’s thriller “Careful What You Wish For”.
The film follows “a self-conscious high-school student” named Doug Martin “who gets more than he bargained for when he starts a torrid affair with Lena – the young, lonely wife of a wealthy businessman renting the lake house next door.”
Isabel Lucas will play Lena, who according to the Aussie actress is “a uniquely complex femme fatale — a compelling archetype that hasn’t been brought to the screen in some time and is due a revival.”
Sounds good to me.
Elizabeth Allen, who previously directed the 2006 teen comedy “Aquamarine” and episodes of “90210″, “The Vampire Diaries”, and “Franklin & Bash” will direct the “provocative and sexy coming of age thriller” from a script by Chris Frisina. How “sexy” it really gets will, of course, depend on the rating they go for. Considering Allen’s filmography, a R-rated movie is probably a bit of a reach.
“Careful What You Wish For” will shoot in early 2013.
