It No Longer Means War for Sam Worthington, But Does for Tom Hardy

Could this be the first crumbling stone in the Sam Worthington Rules Hollywood Empire? Probably not, but we can hope, can’t we? Here’s news that “Inception” star (and upcoming young Mad Max) Tom Hardy has closed a deal to play the role initially offered to starring-in-everything-known-to-man Sam Worthington in the action-comedy “This Means War” with Chris Pine. You gotta wonder, though, where Hardy is going to find time to actually do this movie, what with the “Mad Max” movies on the horizon and all.

In the film, which has been floating around Hollywood Development Hell since 2001, apparently, Pine and Hardy will play black ops spies who fall for the same woman (Reese Witherspoon), prompting them to launch an all-out war against one another for her affections.

McG will direct, with Witherspoon producing along with Will Smith’s production company.
