It’s a Full Scale Invasion in First Trailer for Justice League: War

If you’re looking to link any of D.C.’s original animated movies together, you’re probably barking up the wrong tree. Their movies are basically stand-alone stories and have no ties from movie to movie as far as I an tell. It’s honestly a bit confusing how D.C. and Warner can’t get their act together and make a coherent animated movie universe. I mean, they’re animated, you can basically do anything you want with them. But anyways, don’t look to link their films together, like the upcoming “Justice League: War”, the first trailer for which you can find below.

I believe this is the story from the “Justice League” 52 relaunch, featuring the heroes as they band together for the first time to fight an invasion by bad guy Darkseid. Thus the wacky looking Superman and Green Lantern costumes. The Flash and Bats still look the same, though. Or close enough, I guess.

Featuring the voices of Alan Tudyk as Superman, Michelle Monaghan as Wonder Woman, Shemar Moore as Cyborg, Sean Astin as Shazam, Christopher Gorham as The Flash, Justin Kirk as Green Lantern, and Jason O’Mara as Batman.

“Justice League: War” was directed by Jay Oliva, who also directed the two-part “Batman: The Dark Knight Returns” and “Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox”.

On DVD/Blu-ray next year February 4, 2013.

Cool Stories From Zergnet

They changed it quite a bit from the source material. Superman looks like a kid in the comic, and Captain Marvel wasnt part of it. Still looks as good as any DC animated movie though. Excited as always.

Yeah they said they changed a few things. they wanted to tell the basic story but have room to do some new stuff. Aquaman was switched out for Shazam (formerly Captain Marvel) and may be getting his own animated flick in the near future, probably 2014.

Actually Nix, as I said in the Comic Con write up they actually are looking to add some continuity to these things now. Flashpoint Paradox was the beginning of the end for the old films, with Son of Batman and Assault on Arkham being the last two next year. With JL: War they said that going forward they’d be telling their own DCnU stories based loosley on the comics, but having the freedom to tell more original stories. A great example of this is that they pretty much used all of Jim Lee’s designs for the characters but they gave Wonder Woman a completely new look, which I think really works for her.

jim lee design are horrible, they should of fix all the character. It should give off some crazy design, because this animation is amazing it deserves better (than Jim LEE dumb revision)
