Huh. That’s two “Atlas”-themed posts in a row. Wonder if it means something? Hmm…
Anyways, here’s the second trailer for “Cloud Atlas”, the new sci-fi epic from the Wachowski siblings and German director Tom Tykwer (of “Run Lola Run” fame, though he’s done plenty of good, quality films since that breakthrough movie). This new trailer is only two and a half minutes long, which is a bit of a disappointment, since the filmmakers originally unveiled the movie in a monstrous nearly-6 minute trailer. I guess given the epic nature of the film, they felt like they needed twice the length of your average movie trailer to sell it. Now that they’ve sold it, they’ve gone back to a more traditional trailer length. Still looks unbelievably cool, even if Tom Hanks’ many hair styles are, uh, just odd.
An exploration of how the actions of individual lives impact one another in the past, present and future, as one soul is shaped from a killer into a hero, and an act of kindness ripples across centuries to inspire a revolution.
“Cloud Atlas” stars Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Hugo Weaving, Jim Sturgess, Susan Sarandon, Hugh Grant, Ben Whishaw, Keith David, Jim Broadbent, James D’Arcy, Götz Otto, Zhu Zhu, Doona Bae, Xun Zhou, and David Gyasi.
It’s deja vu all over again October 26, 2012.
