It’s doppelganger trouble in “Prisoners” director Denis Villeneuve’s latest, “Enemy,” in which Jake Gyllenhaal plays two roles, which means, yes, twice the fun. Or at least, twice the Gyllenhaal. I wonder why they didn’t just hire Maggie Gyllenhaal to play the other Gyllenhaal? I can’t tell the two of them apart anyway. (Or is that just me?) Anyways, it looks like a pretty nice little intense movie. Very atmospheric and something of a mind-you-know-what.
Check out a trailer, poster, and a handful of images for the film, currently available on DirecTV, of all places. What’s next, movies premiering on Netflix? Crazy, right?
Adam Bell (Gyllenhaal) is a glum, disheveled history professor, who seems disinterested even in his beautiful girlfriend, Mary (Laurent). Watching a movie on the recommendation of a colleague, Adam spots his double, a bit-part actor named Anthony Clair, and decides to track him down. The identical men meet and their lives become bizarrely and irrevocably intertwined.
Starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Mélanie Laurent, Isabella Rosellini and Sarah Gadon.
Find out who is the enemy in theaters March 14th, but you can catch it before that on DirecTV now.
