It’s Mutie Week! X-Men First Class Casting Rundown

With production set to start later this month in London, Matthew Vaughn and Fox have begun a flurry of major casting for the superhero film. Here are the casting breakdowns so far:

Already in the cast:

- James McAvoy as Charles Xavier aka Professor X
- Michael Fassbender as Erik Lensherr aka Magneto
- Alice Eve as Emma Frost aka The White Queen
- Kevin Bacon as an Unidentified Villain
- Nicholas Hoult as Hang McCoy aka The Beast
- Caleb Landry Jones as Sean Cassidy aka Banshee
- Lucas Till as Alex Summers aka Havok
- Jennifer Lawrence as Raven Darkhölme aka Mystique
- Edi Gathegi as Armando Muño aka Darwin

Newly cast this week:

- Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert
- Jason Flemyng as Azazel
- Oliver Platt as The Man in Black

“X-Men: First Class” is scheduled for Summer 2011.

    It’s kind of a shame they didn’t go with the original 5 and reboot, but let’s see how Fox does this time around. I still say Sinister or Hellfire club are best bets for villains, as either would play well off of the different ideologies of Xavier and Magneto.
