If you love movies about Hell and people who can bender it, then check out J.T. Petty’s “Hellbenders.” All kidding aside, the latest creation from the director of “The Burrowers” actually looks kind of spiffy. The poster is incredibly lame, but the red band trailer is actually something special. If you dig this sort of thing, anyway.
Besides, it’s hard to dislike a movie that stars Clancy Brown. Incredibly hard. I’ve rewatched the “Nightmare on Elm Street” remake because he’s in there. Stop judging me.
Check out this synopsis below:
Hellbenders follows the exploits of the Brooklyn-based Augustine Interfaith Order of Hellbound Saints, known as Hellbenders, a team of lewd and blasphemous ministers who live in a constant state of debauchery in order to be damnation-ready so they can drag the worst of demons back to Hell. When one of the foulest demons possess one of their own and threatens the existence of both Brooklyn and the world, the Hellbenders’ faith is tested.
“Hellbenders” also stars Clifton Collins, Jr., Andre Royo, Robyn Rikoon, Macon Blair, and Dan Folger. But come on — it’s all about Clancy Brown.
