If, you know, everything works out, I mean. But considering that ol Jack Bauer’s life hasn’t exactly been a bed of roses since he took up terrorist battlin’ as a profession, who knows if all the pieces will finally fall into place so we can see Jack on the big screen kicking terrorist ass and taking names.
Fox certainly seems keen on making it happen, with the studio expecting a new script from writer Mark Bomback (“The Wolverine”) to be delivered to them by the end of the year, with a possible April 2012 start date on production to take advantage of star Keifer Sutherlan’s availability.
Of course, that means the studio will also need to settle on a director, with reports that Fox has narrowed their list down to five potential names. Tony Scott, we’re told, is not one of the five being considered, though he had been previously.
If a “24” movie somehow manages to happen, star Kiefer Sutherland will of course return as unstoppable government agent Jack Bauer. Here’s also hoping Mary Lynn Rajskub doesn’t get left out in the cold. After all, Jack Bauer without Chloe O’Brian is like Batman without his Robin. And unless Christopher Nolan is doing the “24” movie, Batman gotsa have his Robin.
