Looks like a very important Asgardian will be making a visit to ABC’s “Agents of SHIELD.” No, it’s not Thor himself, but it is his sorta sidekick Lady Sif, played by Jaimie Alexander in the last two “Thor” movies, including last year’s “Thor: The Dark World.”

“Agents of SHIELD’s” episode #15 will feature an appearance by Alexander as Sif, though how big of an appearance is not known. Given “SHIELD’s” previous encounters with Asgardians (most notably in Episode 8′s “Thor: The Dark World” tie-in episode “The Well”), it makes sense that someone else from that universe would be showing up.

ABC President Paul Lee also told journalists during the recent TCA that the show will reveal the identity of The Clairvoyant, Season 1 of “Agents of SHIELD’s” big bad, by the end of the first season. Good, there’s nothing worse than dragging out a dull storyline.

“Agents of SHIELD” is currently running the second half of its first season, and ratings don’t seem to be getting any better. It will be really interesting to see how ABC determines the show’s fate after this season. Will they be looking long-term, or will they seek to cut their losses?

I guess the answer to that might depend on what kind of relationship ABC wants to continue having with Marvel. We all know Marvel thinks long-term, but that kind of thinking is mostly absent from network TV these days, where it’s perform or die.

Anyways, here’s a look at next week’s “Agents of SHIELD” episode, featuring a cameo by Stan The Man Lee:

The guest spots on the show are usually nothing more than a cameo. I do want to see the show renewed for at least one more season. There are a lot of possibilities for the show to be great. I’m exited for the rumored Agent Carter series. If that show gets the green light they might tie it into the SHIELD show.

The last three episodes were great. The truth is that the series is improving with good episodes from start to finish.
