Jalmari Helander’s Rare Exports Rises to the Top of My Christmas List

EvilSantaIt isn’t everyday that you stumble across a movie that features lots of heavily-armed individuals tracking Santa Claus through scenic snow-covered mountains. Finnish director Jalmari Helander’s upcoming horror/comedy “Rare Exports” boldly asks the question, “What would happen if someone dug up Santa Claus? Would he be happy, sad, or flat-out, teeth-gnashingly angry that you disturbed his decidedly chilly hibernation?” The specifics as to why, exactly, someone would feel the need to bury the jolly old bastard remain unexplored, though I’m willing to bet it was mob-related. Don’t quote me on that, unless, of course, it turns out to be true. The teaser trailer below should be enough to keep you interested in a proper full-length preview becomes available. Merry Christmas, you filthy animals.

Todd was raised on a steady diet of Hollywood blockbusters, late-night Cinemax programming, and USA’s “Up All Night,” which may explain why his taste in movies is more than a little questionable. When he isn’t providing news and reviews for Beyond Hollywood, he can be found lounging lazily on his couch, perched in front of his television, or dwelling in places where direct sunlight can be easily avoided. He's happily married, in his 30's, and totally badass. If you'd like to reach Todd, you can follow him on Twitter or send him email/scoops to todd (at) beyondhollywood.com.
