And his name is Matt Gerald. Who? Matt Gerald, who will play the movie’s lead villain. He counts among his credits stints on the TV shows The Unit, Life, and one of the CSI shows. “Avatar’s” plot: In the future, Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), a paraplegic war veteran, is brought to another planet, Pandora, which is inhabited by the Na’vi, a humanoid race with their own language and culture. Those from Earth find themselves at odds with each other and the local culture. The film’s cast already includes Sigourney Weaver and the suddenly sci-fi favorite Zoe Saldana as the female lead. Wes Studi, Giovanni Ribisi, and Michelle Rodriguez are also in the cast list.

Here’s what Variety had on the man:

Matt Gerald (“In the Mix”) has been cast in James Cameron’s “Avatar.” Gerald will play the lead villain. Filming begins this month in New Zealand and Los Angeles. His previous credits include “S.W.A.T.” and “Terminator 3.”

Basically, this is his Robert Patrick moment. No one knows how he is, but they will soon after “Avatar” hits theaters.
