Birdemic: Shock and Terror (2010) Movie Image

The goods news: Director James Nguyen plans to follow up the cult success of his impossibly goofy romantic thriller “Birdemic” with a sequel. The bad news: It’s going to be in 3D. However, given the original’s non-existent budget and the film’s penchant for wonky special effects, this could actually turn into something worth seeing. Assuming, of course, that the 3D conversion Nguyen uses doesn’t induce heads, nausea, or vomiting, which could very well be the case. Regardless, I’m excited about the possibility of a sequel, as “Birdemic” ranks up there with “Troll 2″ as one of my all-time favorite horrible movies.

Here’s the official synopsis for the sequel, straight from the mouth of Twitch:

A platoon of eagles and vultures attack Hollywood, California. Why did the eagles and vultures attack? Who will survive?

Holy God, sometimes it’s great to have wretched taste in cinema. If you haven’t seen the trailer for the first installment in this historic series, by all means, feast your eyes on the video resting below. Good times shall be had by all.
