Director James Nguyen’s “Birdemic 2: The Resurrection” is headed to Los Angeles later this month. In order to prepare everyone and their wily grandparents for the film’s debut, the director and his promotional team have unleashed the colorfully over-the-top poster you see below. Please try to contain your excitement to mild shrieks.
For those who are unfamiliar with the original outing, “Birdemic” explores the relationship between two good-looking West Coast types as they contend with the invasion of blood-thirsty birds. Why are these feathered creatures attacking everyone? Honestly, I can’t remember. But the film is an absolute blast, particularly if you’re of the belief that “The Room” is one of the greatest cinematic endeavors of our time. Bad taste is an absolute must.
Here’s what the sequel is all about:
Bill is a struggling filmmaker; Gloria is an aspiring actress. Rod, a Silicon Valley millionaire finances Bill’s film, a dream come true until eagles and vultures attack Hollywood and its up to Rod, his girlfriend Nathalie, new friends and old to mount the resistance. Who will survive? Birdemic 2, you asked for it.
If you live in the Los Angeles area and possess an extremely high tolerance for dodgy low-budget cinema, then you should definitely check out “Birdemic 2: The Resurrection” when it screens at the Cinefamily on March 28, 2013. Even if you think the movie is garbage, chances are you’ll have a ridiculously swell time. I think it would be hard not to.
Should that Los Angeles date not work out for you, the San Francisco premiere is currently scheduled for April 3 at the Roxie. More information about can be found at the theater’s website.
