James Wan’s The Conjuring Adds Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson

James Wan’s follow-up to his low-fi horror hit “Insidious” has landed its two main leads in Vera Farmiga and Wan’s old “Insidious” leading man, Patrick Wilson (aka Nite Owl from “Watchmen”). What, Rose Byrne was too busy?

“The Conjuring” is supposedly based on the “true-life story of the Perron family, who claimed they “lived among the dead” in the 1970s as spirits both friendly and sinister inhabited their Rhode Island farmhouse.”

Wan is directing from a script by Chad and Carey Hayes.

Farmiga’s last outing in the horror genre was the creepy thriller “Orphan”. She’s got “Safe House” coming up, but from all appearances, that looks like a throwaway paycheck role. Hey, not a bad job if you can get’em.
