Aquaman Comic BookYesterday we reported that Warner Bros. is looking to add more superheroes in cameo form to Zack Snyder’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and that they were still casting. Warner is looking to pull a Marvel by introducing characters in short snippets before launching them into either their own spin-off movies, or in bigger roles in the “Justice League” film.

According to Hitfix, one of those cameoing superhero roles might have already been filled. The site claims that Jason Momoa (“Game of Thrones”) has signed on the dotted line to play Aquaman in the Snyder movie.

Hitfix says Aquaman will have (as expected) a small role in “Batman v Superman,” but his appearance will have something to do with the World Engine that almost destroyed Metropolis and the world in “Man of Steel.”

Someone else who’s not particularly happy about what happened in ["Man of Steel"] is Aquaman. I’m not sure if that’s the actual name they’ll use or not, but what we’re hearing is that he is not pleased about the World Engine and what it did to the Indian Ocean.

It appears Superman’s giant part in the near-total destruction of Metropolis will have consequences in “Batman v Superman” after all, not only with the appearance of Supes’ archenemy Lex Luthor, but likely with Bruce Wayne aka Batman as well.

And now you can add Aquaman to the list of people with beef against the man of steel.

Man, you help demolish one city and unwittingly cause the near total annihilation of humankind, and everyone’s all up in your grill. What up with that?

No way did he pass up playing Drax the Destroyer to be gay ass Aquaman.

If they do this right it could definitely work. I really hope they go with a more badass version of the character. Either the bearded Monarch that loses his hand (Love how they played that, and his character in JL/JLU), or the modern take from the current comics (Still pretty badass). Mamoa as a blonde that makes me worried.

Hope they don’t even try for a blonde hairdo, just work on a costume that captures the spirit of the original without looking goofy. I’ve seen some cosplay suits with layered armor that look a bit like the Kryptonian suits from “MoS”, but that costume is hard to capture right in live-action. One thing I hope the movie does is give us a good look at Aquaman’s relationship with surface dwellers, and if the rumors about how the World Engine and the Indian Ocean play into the backstory are true, there’s some good stuff in there.

They should look at what they did in Injustice: Gods among Us. Aquaman and the Atlanteans looked pretty damned badass in that. And I kind of agree about the hair. But if they do they can go with a sandy blonde instead.

Damn, forgot about that. I think models from “Injustice” should be the starting point for most live-action adaptations

I agree mostly. Some of them are a little too much, like Flash, but they are very good for like WW, Aquaman, Batman (An armored version), Nightwing, and Green Arrow.

Not my first choice but he is definitely a good pick. He has a presence about him that could turn a somewhat laughable character into a threat. The armored look with the longer hair and beard would fit well with Mamoa. Hope that this turns out to be true. I still would’ve loved to see Karl Urban in the role though.

Urban would’ve done very well. I was just watching Into Darkness again last night. I love him in those. Love that cast period.
