Or actually, the guy who is all “Taken” in the new movie “Six Bullets” is Joe Flanigan (of “Stargate: Atlantis” fame), but it’s Jean-Claude Van Damme’s gun-for-hire character who seems to be running around kicking all the asses. I’m guessing Flanigan gets to throw down a time or two, though you wouldn’t know it from the trailer. “Six Bullets” (a rather strange title, that) is due out on DVD August 21, 2012 from Sony Pictures. No idea if it’ll also be available on Blu-ray, though studios are starting to skimp on that now on titles they don’t expect to do a lot of business with.
Veteran mercenary Samson Gaul (Jean-Claude Van Damme) knows that in the heat of battle, every bullet counts. He retired from combat when his actions resulted in the deaths of helpless victims, but now he’s the last hope for a desperate father. Mixed Martial Artist, Andrew Fayden (Joe Flanigan, Stargate: Atlantis) knows how to fight, but alone he’s unprepared to navigate the corrupt streets of a foreign city to find his kidnapped daughter. Together, these warriors will stop at nothing to tear apart a vile network of criminals that preys upon the innocent.
“Six Bullets” stars Jean-Claude Van Damme, Joe Flanigan, Bianca Bree, and Kristopher Van Varenberg. It’s directed by Ernie Barbarash, who also directed JCVD in “Assassination Games” (with Scott Adkins).
