Jean-Claude Van Damme to Direct Romance Movie?

Jean-Claude Van Damme is either full of love nowadays, or full of shit. I leave it up to you to decide. Not long ago, there was this really intriguing clip from a movie called “JCVD” that was supposed to star Jean-Claude Van Damme; it had a real post-modern look at JCVD, but I haven’t heard anything from it since. Now comes news that JCVD will be directing a romance movie???

That’s the word from Moviehole:

Sheldon Lettich, JC’s constant collaborator and buddy, who speaks often in the Van DammeFans.net forum says his friend is returning to the director’s chair for his new effort.

Called “Full Love” (hmmm), it starts filming in Bangkok around Easter, and is apparently based on an original screenplay by the ‘Muscles’ that’s not so much a martial-arts action movie than it is a romance!

As I recall, the Muscles from Brussels’ last directorial gig was the martial arts movie “The Quest”, one of those movies that was derivative of all the movies that made JCVD famous in the first place — i.e. martial arts tournament fighting.

But in any case, I don’t care how far JCVD’s star has fallen, he’s still putting out more interesting stuff than The Ponytail One.
