Jessica Alba is squeezing in some “Barely Lethal” action in-between her Robert Rodriguez action movie roles.
The actress, who can next be seen in Rodriguez’s “Machete Kills” and “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For”, has joined the cast of Kyle Newman’s teen assassin drama “Barely Lethal”, which is set to star Hailee Steinfeld as Megan, a teenage assassin who is hunted by a former associate after she fakes her own death and enrolls in a suburban high school. There, our heroine finds that high school is almost as dangerous (if not more so) than the world she left behind.
Hilarity, as they say, ensues.
The film also co-stars Samuel L Jackson, with Alba now set to play a character name Victoria Knox, the movie’s villain who pursues Megan into the treacherous hallways of high school.
Newman (“Fanboys”) is directing for RKO Pictures, from a script by John D’Arco, with production on “Barely Lethal” set for this October.
