Jessica Chastain is the latest name to sign up for Christopher Nolan’s super secret “Interstellar”, the director’s follow-up to “The Dark Knight Rises”. The film is already set to star Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway, with Chastain expected to play the film’s third lead.
Nolan is directing from a script he co-wrote with his brother Jonathan Nolan (whose “Person of Interest” is really kicking ass on TV, in case you’re being a dumbass and not watching it). The brothers took over the film when Steven Spielberg bailed on the project after developing it for a few years.
Although the Nolans won’t tell anyone what the film is really about (and if they follow their usual pattern, I’m guessing the actors don’t get to take the scripts home with them, either), nevertheless we do know that “Interstellar” is a sci-fi epic set in space (well the title sorta gave that way), and speculation has the film involving not just wormholes, but also time travel by way of said wormholes.
Or at least, that was the original premise that Spielberg was working under before he left, so who knows where the Nolans might have steered the story since.
We do know one thing for sure, though: “Interstellar” will arrive next year on November 7, 2014.
