Jodie Foster Returns to Space for Neill Blomkamp’s Elysium

Matt Damon, Sharlto Copley, and now Jodie Foster. The casting for “District 9″ director Neill Blomkamp’s second feature, also a sci-fi flick, “Elysium” is looking pretty damn good. No word on what the movie will be about, or who any of the actors will play, but Foster, no stranger to space travel, has committed to the movie.

Blomkamp will be writing and directing again, and the project is expected to be shopped to studios soon enough. The film, as per Hollywood trend nowadays, is trying to hide as much detail as possible from the masses (i.e. us online scavengers), but let’s face it, that won’t last very long. Coming off the success of “District 9″, anything Blomkamp touches will be highly anticipated, so it’s inevitable that plot details will leak out soon enough.

Until then, “Elysium” has added Jodie Foster to the cast. Maybe she can convince Blomkamp to give her buddy Mel a job…

'Dad? Is that you? What are you doing in Elysium?'
