I haven’t seen director Joe Lynch’s “Wrong Turn 2: Dead End” from 2007, but I’m very intrigued by his fantasy role-playing comedy “Knights of Badassdom” (starring Summer Glau, no less) coming out soon. So while we wait for “Badassdom” to find a release date, Lynch has already set up his next film, an actioner called “Everly” with the boys at Crime Scene Pictures, who are also producing the Colin Firth and Cameron Diaz remake of “Gambit” with the Brothers Coens.
“Everly” will focus on “a down-on-her-luck woman, stuck in her apartment, who must fend off waves of assassins sent by her ex, a dangerous mob boss.” Wow, that’s gotta suck.
The film’s concept was conceived by Lynch himself, and the whole film will apparently be shot entirely in one room, the woman’s apartment. Lynch will direct from a script by Yale Hannon, and the boys hope to land their female lead and get the movie into production in New Orleans sometime this Winter.
Hey, I don’t think Eliza Dushku has anything going on. Give her a call, boys.
