Anyways, yesterday it was reported that Joel Edgerton had been offered the lead in Warner Bros.’ “300: Battle of Artemisia”, the studio’s “300” sequel. Today brings news that he was in fact given the option of either “Artemisia” or the co-lead in Steven Soderbergh’s “The Man from UNCLE”.
“UNCLE” is currently rumored to have Bradley Cooper up for the role of Napoleon Solo, the other male lead in the movie, while Edgerton’s offered role is that of Ilya, David McCallum’s old role in the TV series, and Solo’s Russian partner in spying.
Basically, yeah, Joel Edgerton is the new Sam Worthington. Of course, Tom Hardy might have a little something to say about that. Wouldn’t it be fun if the two of them ended up in the same movie together? I think it would be hilarious, but then again, maybe it’s just me.
