Bad guys don’t take the accidental death of their girlfriends during the act of a crime very well, if this trailer for John Cena’s “12 Rounds” is any indication. Then again, this bad guy may be considered “brilliant”, but he doesn’t know he’s going up against a guy with superpowers. Spontaneous roid rage is a superpower, right? Detective Danny Baxter (Cena) discovers his girlfriend (Scott) has been kidnapped by a ex-con tied to Baxter’s past, and he’ll have to successfully complete 12 challenges in order to secure her safe release.

Starring John Cena, Ashley Scott, Steve Harris, Brian J. White, Aidan Gillen, and Taylor Cole. Explosives master Renny Harlin (”Die Hard 2″) directs.
