Johnny Depp Already Signed For Pirates of the Caribbean 4?

Apparently that’s the news of the day (or yesterday, as this new was posted here yesterday, but I, um, sort of missed it until Moviehole mentioned it), that Johnny Depp has signed on to reprise scurvy pirate Captain Jack Sparrow for a “Pirates of the Caribbean 4″, which may be a sequel, a prequel, or some other form of -quel. Of course no one has confirmed this yet, although Depp has said that he can’t get enough of Captain Jack Sparrow.

Here’s what Depp said:

“Doing the Pirates movies has been an absolute blast,” he says.

“I’m the luckiest guy in the world to have had such a great experience. If I walk away from Jack now, I’ll walk away with some amazing memories. But At World’s End leaves open the possibility of a fourth or fifth movie, which I wouldn’t be opposed to on an actor level because I feel there is a lot more territory to explore with Captain Jack.”

“I’ve never really felt I’m done with playing the character, so why shouldn’t we try a fourth and a fifth?”

Okay, so now I’m more prone to believe that Depp has, in fact, signed on for a Pirates 4 (and even 5).

But I am sure about one thing: Depp returns this Friday with “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End”.

    okay this is totally bull crap. i don’t know who made you believe this or what you think you saw but its not true. besides how can there be a fourth movie in a TRILOGY? uh, DUH! it cant.

      Just naming a few 4th movies that came out after they claimed to be just trilogies…Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Die Hard… Umm.. I am pretty sure I can keep going :)

      Any series where there are currently three parts is called a trilogy. With a fourth addition, the name changes – it’s no longer a trilogy. The term trilogy does NOT mean it’s JUST for three only.

      Anyway, I really like the idea of a fourth movie. It would be interesting to see what kind of ideas they coul come up with. I really don’t know why a lot of people are disagreeing with this and assuming it will be rubbish when they don’t know a thing yet. It’s senseless. I’m all for a fourth and possibly, fifth movie.
      I’ll watch it and if it’s something I don’t like, then that’s it, I don’t like it, but at least I gave it a chance. I’ve found a lot of people are saying “They can’t do a fourth movie,” “I’m not going to watch it,” etc. People just aren’t so open-minded anymore, and wouldn’t think to give this idea a chance. What if it turns out to be better than the past three, what with a whole new plot and such?

    I know they’re going to make a fourth movie but they’re not gonna start shooting until 2009-2011!
    I can’t wait that long.

    OMG!! johnny HAS to be jack sparrow in the fourth pirates movie!!! there cannot be another jack sparrow, he’s one of a kind!!!
    oh, and this is to what brittney wrote: they said it was a trilogy coz there was only 3 movies out at the time and think about the star wars trilogy…there is now SIX movies. HA!! suck on that!!

      I am suprised at all the lack of interest in Oralndo Blooms roll reprisal. I Loved wil as much as Jack and actually I really loved the Naval Officer who was to marry Knightley…but since her fickle behavior caused his untimely demise there will be no bringing him back. I wasn’t fond of Kira Knightly’s character after the first movie and her acting wasn’t quite the best. But anyway, I was upset that they ended it with our hero Wil Turner being stuck as the interum Davy Jones and was hoping they would fix that and for his sake let him have his life with knightly. Am I the only one who cared?

      I think that Johnny Depp is so hot and I really do want them to make a pirate of the caribbean 4 and 5 I liked the 3rd one but not loved it cause they showed Will Turner and Elisabeth way to much even though Johnny Depp is the main actor. But yes i would love to see Jack Sparrow back in action.
