So, here’s another story about Johnny Depp in negotiations to star in another major movie. What’s so special about that? Johnny Depp stars in 40 movies a year, give or take a couple. This one is called “Seven Friends of Pancho Villa and the Woman With Six Fingers”, and Depp is in talks to play the murdered real-life Mexican revolutionary hero Pancho Villa, though I’m more curious who is going to play the woman with six fingers of the title, and will she actually have six fingers? That’s just so … wow. A woman with six fingers. Imagine the possibilities. I bet she could load guns faster and everything.
In any case, Depp is said to be in “advance talks” with Serbian director Emir Kusturica to star in “Pancho Villa”. Besides Depp in the title role, Mexican spitfire Salma Hayek is also in talks to co-star, one presumes as the woman with six fingers of the title. I mean, she has six fingers. That’s … wow.
“Seven Friends of Pancho Villa and the Woman With Six Fingers” was written by Kusturica and Gordan Mihic, and production is set to begin sometime in 2011, when Depp is finally available to do it. The actor and director previously worked together on 1993’s “Arizona Dream”, which you’ve probably never heard of because, well, who has?
The biopic is apparently going to be shot in Spanish, which makes sense, though I wonder how good is Depp’s Spanish?
